Vehicle compatibility checklist
How to check CarPlay AI Box compatibility
A model name alone is rarely enough. Check the factory system, connection mode, data port and vehicle controls before ordering.
1. Confirm the factory feature
Connect an iPhone by cable to the original data port to confirm factory wired CarPlay opens and works normally.
For factory wireless CarPlay, confirm that an iPhone launches CarPlay wirelessly through the original head unit. Choose a box designed for this wireless input; support for wireless phone projection alone does not establish compatibility.
Connect an Android phone by cable to confirm factory wired Android Auto opens and works normally. Choose a box that explicitly supports this factory input. A model name, charging port or Bluetooth connection alone is not enough to confirm compatibility.
2. Find the USB data port
For a wired connection, use the same USB data port that launches factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Some vehicles provide several USB ports but only one carries infotainment data. A charging-only port cannot establish a wired display and control connection.
For a wireless input, follow the selected box's instructions for pairing and power. A USB charging connection does not prove support for a wireless CarPlay input.
3. Record the vehicle details
Provide the make, model, model year, country, head-unit version and factory connection mode when asking NAVLYNX Sales. A photo of the factory connection screen can help identify the system.
- Vehicle make, model and year
- Country or region
- Wired CarPlay, wireless CarPlay or wired Android Auto
- Head-unit or infotainment version
4. Check regional services
Cellular bands, SIM support, maps, streaming services and app availability vary by country. Driving restrictions also differ. Use entertainment features only where safe and permitted.
